Matt Salazar

Matt Salazar has been part of the Los Angeles music community for fifteen years. Matt currently serves as Creative Director at In Flight Music Group where he oversees A&R and the creative aspects of both music production and talent branding. During his time at In Flight Music Group, he developed the band “Running The Risk” and took them from unknown to a No. 2 spot on Billboards “Next Big Sound” chart in under twelve months. Prior to In Flight Music Group, he was a partner and General Manager of LA Sound Gallery which was the largest independently owned scoring stage in Los Angeles. While there he spearheaded the remodel, design, and installation of technical facilities that landed the studio two covers of Mix Magazine and was awarded the publication’s 2009 Best In Class. LA Sound Gallery regularly recorded orchestras for Fox, Disney, Dreamworks, Warner Bros. and Miramax. Coming to Los Angeles in 2001, Matt immediately jumped into the then transitioning studio scene working as a setup technician at O’Henry Sound Studios and second engineer at Sage and Sound Recorders. During his free time he wrote and produced records for local Los Angeles rock bands (winning the band Outlet the Hollywood Music Award for “Best Performing Artist” in both 2005 & 2006) and eventually landed himself a gig at Ocean Studios Burbank/Mama Jo’s as a staff producer. Ocean Studios Burbank was an all analog studio at the time with an equipment list that was satisfactory to even the most extreme vintage gear snob. This was the perfect place for Matt to further develop his skill set as well as integrate his Pro Tools HD system into the mix. Continuing to write and produce musicians independently, Matt has been fortunate enough to work alongside Mutt Lange, Chris Lord-Alge, Jon Brion, Manny Marroquin, and other elder statesman in his journey.
